clock and sloth - 2021 Year in Review image

While the COVID-19 pandemic continued to prevail in 2021, we were able to restore some sense of normalcy. Our team returned to trade shows for the first time since 2019, swapped the sweatpants for slacks for the occasional in-person client meeting, and we were finally able to limit the number of times we had to say, “You’re on mute.”

We’re rewinding the year and reviewing a few of our favorite client projects from 2021.

BrightSpring Health Services – Employer Branding Guide

BrightSpring Health Services image

One of our favorites this past year was when we helped our client BrightSpring Health Services, a leading provider of comprehensive home and community-based health services, to change how they communicate with employees and job applicants by updating their employer brand. One of the exciting parts of this project was the challenge of consolidating employer communications across dozens of different healthcare brands and practice areas and creating a single “BrightSpring Way” that worked for all. As challenges with hiring and retaining healthcare talent grow in the U.S., we were excited to be asked to help with this critical project.

Centra Credit Union – New Website Development

Centra Credit Union

When Centra Credit Union wanted to freshen up its website, our team took a holistic approach by giving it a new look and a better user experience. In fact, various pages on the new site, which launched this November, are dynamic, meaning that different users will see different content. By prioritizing the most applicable content for a given user, it delivers an exceptional experience for website visitors while helping our client achieve more online conversions. Charah Solutions – ESG Report

PriceWeber worked with our longtime client, Charah Solutions, to develop strategy, planning, copy and design for their First Annual Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report. This ESG Report showcases Charah Solutions’ long history of environmental responsibility, commitment to employees, communities and customers with clearly defined ESG goals, including internationally recognized Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) and UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) reporting. The report provides information on 2020 ESG reporting, response to the global pandemic, key stakeholder issues and defined ESG goals in the areas of environmental, improving data acquisition and reporting capabilities to strengthen future ESG, Diversity and Inclusion, and Safety reports. The 2020 ESG Report is available for download on the Charah Solutions website at www.charah.com/sustainability.

CHI Saint Joseph Health – COVID-19 in Communities Video Shoot

CHI Saint Joseph Health employee

As the COVID-19 pandemic continued, it was important for our client, CHI Saint Joseph Health, to share stories from the frontlines from its leaders, physicians and team members. We helped with video interviews to shed light on what these team members were experiencing and the impact this virus is truly having both at facilities and within our communities. These videos were used both internally so that employees could hear from their colleagues and externally on social media to help raise awareness of the virus and the importance of getting vaccinated.

Flavorman – Expansion Groundbreaking

Flavorman groundbreaking ceremony

When Flavorman, a leading beverage development company, decided to hold a ceremonial groundbreaking on the site of its new facility expansion in Louisville, the PriceWeber team was there to assist! Our Public Relations team stepped in to help distribute the groundbreaking news and secure media on-site for this significant announcement and were proud to be a small part of this successful day. The project will bring 30 new jobs to downtown Louisville and continue to serve as a catalyst for attracting global business to the heart of Kentucky’s largest city. Since Louisville is PriceWeber’s hometown, we were thrilled to be part of this local news and help the Flavorman team receive national and local earned media for their big announcement! Cheers to the Flavorman team!

Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates – Volunteer Appreciation Day

PriceWeber team members at KODA Volunteer Appreciation Day

We’re always happy to see our clients work together, and this past summer, Donate Life KY teamed up with the Louisville Zoo to create a Volunteer Appreciation event. The event, which was a celebration of life, was held to help raise awareness of the impact organ donation has on the community. It was a first of its kind for the Louisville nonprofit and brought together Donate Life ambassadors, including transplant recipients, donor families, and patients waiting for a lifesaving transplant. Our team was proud to assist with public relations efforts, and videography and photography on-site during the event. We loved being able to help raise awareness of such an important cause that is helping save lives in Kentucky!

KORBEL California Champagne – Halloween Campaign

KORBEL bottle and beverage

In 2021, we reimagined the mimosa – it’s not just OJ anymore! For decades, the number one cocktail for champagne and sparkling wine has been the mimosa, and by a wide margin. There was an opportunity to leverage the equity built into this ubiquitous cocktail name and innovate within the traditional drink strategy. KORBEL is a leader in the category and, therefore, can make bold moves.

We worked with the brand team to redefine the consumer understanding of a mimosa, pairing each unique varietal with juices to invent seasonal mimosas – the Apple Mimosa made with KORBEL Brut Rosé, the Pomegranate Mimosa made with KORBEL Blanc de Noirs, and the Guava Mimosa made with KORBEL Sweet Rose’ – to name just a few. And then there is our favorite – for Halloween, the Screamsicle Mimosa. We took the traditional mimosa and elevated it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and shavings of dark chocolate.

Following a full-day shoot in our PriceWeber studio, the Screamsicle Mimosa haunted the pages of KORBEL.COM, social media and throughout retail locations nationwide, giving consumers a whole new reason to pop KORBEL. The result was a cocktail solution that broke from tradition to expand usage, building the shopping basket for retailers with an array of varietals, juices, and garnishes that didn’t previously belong under the mimosa umbrella.

Louisville Regional Airport Authority – Black History Month Event

LRAA Black History Month event

In February, our team assisted the Louisville Regional Airport Authority with the creation of their Black History Month exhibit, “The Sky’s the Limit: A Celebration of the History of Black Achievement in Aviation.” This exhibit showcased specific members of the Black aviation community and their achievements through visuals. We truly believe that teamwork makes the dream work at our agency, and this project was no exception. Many of our talented team members worked on this project to help it come to life. Our efforts included photography, videography, designing visuals and creative assets, public relations and copywriting. Many people came from far and wide throughout February to see the exhibit, and LRAA earned local and national media attention. In all, it was a soaring success!

Louisville Zoo – The Slowest Twitter Account in History

Louisville Zoo Sloth

To gain interest and welcome the Louisville Zoo’s two newest (and slowest) animal ambassadors – Linnaeus’s two-toed sloths, Sunni and Sebastian – the Louisville Zoo tasked our team with managing and growing a Twitter account for the sloths. Our team has had too much fun brainstorming the sloths’ thoughts and helping to educate the community about these animals and the Zoo’s conservation efforts. At the 2021 Public Relations Society of America – Bluegrass Landmarks of Excellence Awards, we brought home an Award of Excellence for our work on the sloth Twitter account.

Southern Brands – Opening of Homemade Ice Cream & Bakery Café

Homemade Ice Cream & Bakery Cafe

Homemade Ice Cream & Bakery Café, a fast-casual bakery-café that is part of Louisville, Kentucky-based Southern Brands, opened its first restaurant location on the border of Carmel and Zionsville, Indiana, on Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2021. A mix between a classic ice cream shop, cozy bakery and lively bistro whipped together, the menu offers lunch options and a dessert menu. Our team was hungry to help assist with public relations and social media efforts, branding and creative development (including photography and design), and media planning and strategy for this opening. We’re looking forward to announcing their next location in 2022!
