PriceWeber and the Kentucky Association of Sexual Assault Programs (KASAP) have been honored nationally for an impactful campaign that helped raise awareness of the pervasive issue of sexual assault within communities statewide. PriceWeber and KASAP earned national accolades on Friday, Dec. 15, during PR Daily’s 2023 Media Relations Awards at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. The organizations clinched the top spot in the “Public Health” category and received an Honorable Mention in the “Media Relations Campaign of the Year: Over $50,000” category.

Together, PriceWeber and KASAP collaborated on the production of “Believe Me – Help and Hope for Sexual Assault Survivors.” Launched in April 2023, this hour-long documentary, broadcast statewide on Kentucky Educational Television (KET), featured compelling narratives from survivors of sexual assault in Kentucky and disseminated crucial information about available resources within the state. The public relations initiatives surrounding the documentary significantly amplified its impact during Sexual Assault Awareness Month, resulting in a notable 6% surge in crisis calls during the promotional period.

“We are deeply honored to receive this prestigious award alongside the Kentucky Association of Sexual Assault Programs,” said Fred Davis, CEO, PriceWeber. “Collaborating on ‘Believe Me’ was not just about creating a documentary; it was about amplifying the voices of survivors, fostering awareness, and making a meaningful impact. Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to the courageous sexual assault survivors who generously shared their stories in this documentary. It is through their bravery that we are able to shine a light on the profound impact of sexual assault.”

“Raising awareness of sexual assault is fundamental to creating safer communities,” said Missie Quillen, Executive Director, Kentucky Association of Sexual Assault Programs. “This honor underscores how strategic partnerships and media engagement can effectively address the prevalence and prevention of sexual assault. We want to sincerely thank PriceWeber for working closely with us to make ‘Believe Me’ happen. This collaborative effort has been instrumental in providing information about sexual assault and the resources available to survivors and their loved ones in Kentucky.”
